Our gym is about connecting people with people whilst getting fit and having fun. We are a husband and wife team that moved to Waiuku in 2016. After successfully running community based boxing bootcamp sessions at the Waiuku Rugby Stadium we decided to open the first dedicated boxing gym here in Waiuku, our passion for boxing, training and fitness has always been in our blood. With many years of elite sports we have passion, knowledge and understanding about getting fit while living a balanced life.
We started as a boxing gym only and have now branched out to other trainings which include non-boxing classes with a focus on strength and conditioning. Utilising bodyweight exercises and unconventional exercise equipment to provide fun, dynamic and challenging sessions.

BOXFIT:
BOXFIT is a high-intensity fitness workout that combines elements of boxing with other forms of exercise, such as cardio, strength training, and core work. In a typical BOXFIT class, participants perform a series of punch combinations using pads or on a heavy bag and engage in bodyweight exercises like push-ups and burpees to improve their overall endurance and agility. Whether you're looking to improve your fitness level, relieve stress, or learn some basic self-defence moves, meet new people, BOXFIT is a fun. Low impact and rewarding workout option for individuals of all fitness levels. This is a non contact program. You will need a set of hand wraps and boxing gloves for this workout.
GLADIATOR:
GLADIATOR is our signature workout at Westcoast Fitness. It is a high-intensity fitness program that combines elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, animal (ZUU) and other bodyweight movement and cardiovascular exercises like rowing, biking, and running. GLADIATOR workouts are never the same; like CrossFit, the WOD (Workout of the Day) is typically varied and challenging, incorporating functional movements performed at high intensity. Whether you're looking to build strength, improve endurance, or simply challenge yourself in a supportive and motivating environment, GLADIATOR offers a dynamic and effective fitness program that can help you reach your health and fitness goals. BX n GRIND:
BX n GRIND is a mix of BOXFIT and GLADIATOR programs. It is a well-rounded fitness routine that incorporates the benefits of boxing as a great warm-up to a high-intensity workout. This fusion workout offers a unique blend of cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and agility work with people, providing a challenging and dynamic workout experience. You need to have a set of hand wraps and boxing gloves for this workout.
PROBOX:
PROBOX is a trial program designed for individuals who are willing to move up from BOXFIT as a training method. It is based on a more traditional boxing training approach that includes learning skills such as skipping, footwork, shadow boxing, and light sparring. If you want to join this class, you must have already mastered the basic boxing requirements necessary for BOXFIT. Additionally, you will need a mouth guard, a set of hand wraps, and boxing gloves to participate in this workout.
COACHES CALL:
This is what it sounds like: The Coach will decide on the workout on the day, so be prepared for anything!
SUNDAY SET:
The program called "Match Fit" has inspired the Sunday Set, where former All Blacks come together to help men improve their fitness. This program is open to all men, whether they are members or not. It is a great opportunity for men to come together and work on their health in a supportive environment.
THENX:
WE are reintroducing a classic workout called THENX, which is based on calisthenics. Calisthenics is a type of exercise that involves using one's own body weight as a form of resistance, instead of relying on equipment or weights. This versatile form of exercise can be suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced athletes. Calisthenics provides a challenging workout that targets multiple aspects of physical fitness.
